"Mobilize" Your .NET & Java Skills

"Mobilizing" is the new buzzword in the industry. It stands for optimizing your applications and websites for the mobile devices. With the number of mobile devices expected to surpass the total number of computers in the world soon, Mobilizing is crucial for businesses to maintain their competitive edge.

The same is true for software engineers. Those with experience in programming mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry can now fetch as much as 100% more salary compared to traditional .NET and Java developers.

It's not just more money; it's more fun too. If you are part of a large team working on a banking system, for example, you see only a small portion of the overall system. And you are stuck for months at a time doing

maintenance or small incremental enhancements.

Mobilize Your .NET & Java Skills

Traditional programming can sometimes get downright boring. On the other hand, mobile application projects tend to be shorter yet more exciting. You get instant gratification of seeing the fruits of your labor. The scenery is always changing too. With app ideas coming from people and businesses in all walks of life, projects

are varied, interesting and challenging.

If you are a .NET or Java programmer with several years of experience, there is only a small window of opportunity to switch to the mobile world. When a large number of "experienced" mobile programmers become available, employers will be unwilling to incur the cost and time to train a senior traditional programmer.

Fortunately, MicroObjects is still looking for .NET and Java engineers to be cross trained on mobile technology provided, a) you are very good at what you do and can program unbreakable code, b) you take pride in your work, c) you have a special knack for user interface design and d) you are a hard worker. Interested? Check us out; click on the "Apply for a job" button and tell us where you want to go.

Mobilize your skills!

MOJO - A MicroObjects Tradition

2010 Mojo Site - Ramada ResortMOJO 2010 Site

MOJO is an annual event at MicroObjects ("MO") that has become a much-anticipated tradition. It is just one example of the work hard, play hard, family centric work environment and culture that MO promotes.

MOJO 2010 took place in Ramada Resort Cochin, a luxury retreat overlooking Lake Kumbalam. Employees and their family attended the event. Also present were luminaries from Zco Group Worldwide including Group Chairman and Vice President of Engineering. For many Zco employees, it provided an opportunity to meet their counterparts at MicroObjects in person for the first time.

The evening was full of entertainment and activities with a DJ providing

music and MO’s own multi-talented Shamita emceeing and keeping things moving at a good clip. Employees and their children showed off their talents. There were games, contests and dancing.

There was even a movie made by the talented MicroObjects creative media group. The evening ended with a grand dinner.

MOJO 2011 is shaping up to be even bigger. Employees have been divided into four groups (Army, Navy, Air Force and the Marines) for the purposes of intramural competition. There will be competition in cricket, football, caroms, chess and table tennis, to name a few. Winners will be awarded prizes at MOJO 2011 in February. Stay tuned for more news on as they develop.

MOJO - Entertainment nonpareil!

MOJO or MicroObjects Joyous Occasion is always a much-awaited season of entertainment at MOPL. The run-up to the mega event is filled with competitions and games. Engineers are grouped into teams and vie with each other with unmatched verve. The celebrations culminate in a party that is non-pareil. The venue for the MOJO 2011 party is the PJ Princess Hotel,

Eck App inNHBR

Art NearIn a world awash in applica-tion software, an app highlighting idiosyncratic Hall of Fame pitcher Dennis Eckersley would figure to be a matter of sooner rather than later. But the story behind the recently released Eck App offers lessons in patience, taking creativity to new heights and showing how a company can stretch its mission boundaries while having plenty of fun in the process.

More than a year in the making, the entertaining Eck App leverages the distinct character and vocabulary that Eckersley shares with baseball fans in New England with his regular pre- and post-Boston Red Sox game appearances on NESN.The app includes a trivia game, an "Eckipedia," with definitions of Eckersley-created terms such as "cheese," "johnson" and "steel" that are accompanied by Eckersley's voice.
